Greetings, loved ones~let's take a journey
TO THE EARLY 2000s
Before twerking and cat daddying, we all lived in a much simpler time.
We're about Lizzie McGuire and the introduction of skinny jeans in jr high
Back when we would text each other using phones with actual BUTTONS and bought ringtones for like $1.99 a pop (don't even get us started on ring back tones)
This was the age of fantastic pop culture.
Cinematic classics that touched the hearts of a generation included:
The Princess Diaries
A Cinderella Story
Bring It On (1 & 2)
Pearl Harbor #genrevariety
A Walk To Remember <33
The Disney Channel raised us with relationship/ fashion advice from Cory and Topanga. None of us even questioned the validity of that name. Or Hermione for that matter (pronounced "Her MEE own" by an eleven year old four eyed/brace face Holls)
Speaking of media influences that made us the absolute greatest generation (sorry wizards of waiverly whatever fans, ain't nobody got time for you), we all had our own individual anthems that embodied our souls back in the day. Occasionally, the radio gods will bless some stations and we'll get transported back to high school/jr high with an ancient Vanessa Carlton or Fall Out Boy throwback.
|We will not apologize for the fact that our eighth-grade heavy eyeliner wearing selves still find Mr. Wentz to be a total babe and a half.|
Here's our playlists full of songs you swore you had forgotten but probably know every single lyric to/ will sing them in your head throughout the remainder of the week. Who doesn't need a throwback to remind them of their feel good jams circa 2006?
